Upcoming Regional Celebrations

Several regions across the United States will be holding regional celebrations to commemorate the honoring of Congressional Gold Medals to the Japanese American World War II soldiers. Please note that this is a partial list.

• Arizona JACL - April 22, 1 p.m., Glendale Civic Center, the chapter is currently seeking local JA World War II vets, call Doris Asano at 602/997-0679 or dfolder@aoll.com

• Chicago, IL- April 22, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., International Union of Operating Engineers Hall, 2260 S. Grove St., Reservations are $25 for the program that will include a reception with refreshments, Parking is free., Info: Call JACL at 773/728-7170

• Nor Cal Regional Tribute, San Francisco, CA, April 22, 11:30 a.m., Japanese Cultural Center of Northern California, 1840 Sutter St. The organizations hosting the tribute are VFW Post 9879-Golden Gate Nisei Memorial Post, the San Francisco Nikkei Lions Club and the National Japanese American Historical Society.
